For a few weeks now, over and over again, I heard the Spirit of God say, “I WILL MAKE A WAY!" I kept this word hidden in my heart and was waiting for the Lord's instruction in my prayer time. It wasn't until January 21st that this word became so tangible, so real. It was as if I could almost physically reach out and touch the words God had spoken: “I WILL MAKE A WAY!" God's words were manifesting right in front of me. That day, as I was driving down a road, I felt like I was also moving in closer to what the Lord was speaking to me about. I could feel the shift, the release of something new and was caught in an open vision where I sensed a powerful change coming. My mom was sitting in the passengers seat and I could only ask her, "Can't you feel it? It's coming!"
In my last blog: “You Will Soar High On Wings Like Eagles,” I explained how many were entering the new year feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and weary from the numerous battles. Battles that shook your faith, battles that brought extreme pressure, and battles that almost caused you to throw in the towel. Many people crossed over into this new season feeling hopeless, wondering if it’s even worth it to continue fighting and enduring.
I sensed from the Lord that there is a wilderness that many have been and are still walking through in this present moment. A deep and dark wilderness that has left you feeling overwhelmed and confused at times. On the outside, it may seem as if it's all been working against you, but the wilderness has been working at your favor. Take heart, the Lord is in control of the wilderness! The wilderness is setting a foundation in your life for what you are about to enter, for what you have been called for—it has been used to re-position you, it is being used to polish and refine you.
Warning! Understanding that the wilderness is a divine process for our refinement, we must be careful to not set our eyes on the wilderness or else we will lose sight over the things God has planned for us. On my last stream, I spoke about the consequences of fixing our eyes on our present situation. If we fix our eyes and walk based on what we are facing, feeling, and experiencing in the wilderness, we will grow blind—unable to see or believe the promises of God. Setting our eyes on the wilderness will only make room for discouragement, fear, and doubt in our lives. Remember the Lord has commanded us to walk by faith and not by sight.
“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 NKJV
When God makes a promise to us in the middle of our wilderness, many times those promises seem unattainable because our eyes are set on the doors that have been shut in our faces, the opportunities that have escaped us, the situations that seem to be working against us. Suddenly God’s promises all seem too far away, too impossible to receive. But David said,
"I would have lost heart, unless I had believed That I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living." Psalm 27:13 NKJV
You may be that person wondering if going through the wilderness is even worth it. But let me tell you, as you read this word, you know that there's something inside of you that doesn't allow you to lose hope. There is a fire inside of you that tells you to keep going despite the wilderness, because the Lord is about to make a way.
GOD IS YOUR WAY-MAKER!
We serve a God who makes a WAY where there is NO WAY. Isaiah chapter 43 says,
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 NKJV
This is a season of shifting—the season where God makes a way for you. The Lord is clearing the path, making a road in the wilderness. The Lord is removing everything that is blocking the road. Get ready to walk through. You will begin to walk through. When the Lord says, “I WILL MAKE A WAY” get ready for things to change! I want to encourage you and remind you that your current situation, your current wilderness is NOT an obstacle for God. The Lord is already creating roads that you don’t even know about—because your wilderness is under His control. The Lord will make a way despite your surroundings, despite the opposition. This can look differently for everyone: the Lord can make a way for you by bringing provision, finances, resources, connections, restoration, healing, justice, and the list goes on and on.
“Behold, I will do a new thing, Now it shall spring forth; Shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness And rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19 NKJV
If the Lord created the desert (process), He also created the rivers (provision). If the Lord has allowed you to enter a time of testing, He will also provide you with a way out. The Lord is making a way for you, as you believe this word.
"When God decides to make a way in the wilderness, He is promising you a way out. He is promising victory."
