Soaring High On Wings Like Eagles

This past week, I’ve been hearing these words in my spirit: “You will soar high on wings like eagles. You will soar above the storm.” I knew the Lord was speaking to me about this next season, about this new year! I had eagerly been waiting for His instruction, His plan, and His will to be revealed. I wanted to be ready and aware for what the Lord had in store for His people. As I heard these words over and over again, I cried tears of joy and could only thank God for His mercy, grace, and goodness.

Isaiah 40:31 NKJV, “But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up (soar high) with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

Many people are entering this new year feeling weary, tired, and broken—weak and discouraged, with no more strength to continue moving forward. Worn out from the many battles faced this past year. Battles that were fought in secret, battles that felt overwhelming at times, and battles that were necessary to bring you to a higher level. This was a season of preparation, testing, and refining. It was a training season—a difficult training season. Perhaps, many were expecting and hoping for a different outcome as we close this year. Many were expecting to enter the new year with victory, joy, and celebration. However, despite the battles and sufferings, there were a few who persisted and understood that the Lord was training their hands for battle! Despite the trials, there were a few who believed what the Lord had spoken and are waiting eagerly for the manifestation of His promise.

Key: David's hands needed to be trained with lions and bears before receiving the victory over Goliath. Your victory is near!

Psalm 144:1 NKJV, “Blessed be the Lord my Rock, Who trains my hands for war, And my fingers for battle…”

Many were running the race despite the pain—knowing that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. (Romans 5:3-4 NKJV)

This was a year of seeking the Lord and His strength. Crying out for the Lord’s strength!

Psalm 105:4 NKJV, “Seek the Lord and His strength; Seek His face evermore!”

This was a season of hiding and finding refuge in the presence of God. Though you felt like you were unprotected, forgotten and forsaken, the Mighty One covered you with His feathers. Though you were rejected by man, He took you under His wings.

Psalm 91:4 NKJV, “He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge;”

This year left many people wondering, “How are we supposed to overcome another year?” But I heard the Lord say, “You will soar high on wings like eagles, you will soar above the storm! Wait a little longer!

Look at how far you've come! Look at all the battles the Lord has helped you through. Look at how His peace and strength has kept you. If you are still standing today reading this word, the Lord is not done with you yet! Wait a little longer. It's coming!

For the last couple of days, I kept seeing eagles and discovered that a very powerful trait of the eagle is that they're incredibly bold, fearless, and courageous. The eagle is the only bird that will fly above the storm to avoid the rain. While most birds fly away from storms to find safety, eagles fly right through them; using the strong winds to elevate and help them rise higher.

Eagles instinctively know that once they pass through the storm, there is peace and security on the other (higher) side. The heavens are their hiding place!

Key: Eagles will wait for the perfect wind thermal!

Isaiah 40:31 NKJV, “But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up (soar high) with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.”

Eagles patiently wait for the perfect wind to help them soar higher. They depend on the wind. Just like the eagle, we are called to wait, hope and trust in the Lord. We depend and wait for the wind of the Holy Spirit.

Psalm 27:14 NKJV, “Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!”

In this new year, be ready to soar high above the storms. Get ready. What you felt destroyed you, discouraged you, and disappointed you this past year will not affect you in this next season. The turbulence that caused you to fall will now help you soar higher! The storm is your stepping stone! Your storm is taking you quicker and higher to the promise. The Lord renews your strength because you have been trained for greater.

Like the eagle, embrace and go through the storm knowing that there is victory on the other side. Your victory is coming. Press in.

I prophesy this over your life! The storm will no longer tear you down. The storm will no longer push you back. The storm will no longer bring fear and intimidation. The storm will no longer work against you, but will work for you. Prepare yourself. With God on your side, you can successfully face and pass every storm. You will enter this new season with boldness, courage, and strength. The storm is strong, but He is stronger.

WAIT AND SOAR HIGH LIKE THE EAGLES!

“When the oceans rise and thunders roar, I will soar with You above the storm.”
